"Change has come to America." - Barrack Obama's winning speech

政治の世界で、久しぶりに「感動」を伝えられるリーダーが誕生した。４４代アメリカ合衆国大統領Barrack Obamaである。アメリカの各メディアには早速、スピーチの原稿がアップロードされている（すごい時代だ。そして、便利な時代）。多くの人が、感動をもって彼の言葉を聞いたであろう。少し抑え気味に話すのだけれど、心に訴えかけてくる。「語りかけてくる」ようなスピーチだと思う。言葉の選択もレトリックもすばらしい。絶妙な繰り返し、リズム、間。ぜひ、じっくりscriptを吟味してみたい。

ここ数年、アメリカに対しては、複雑な思いがあったけど、今回の大統領選挙を見ていて「うらやましい。」と思った。１０代の高校生までもが、２５ドルの個人献金をしたり、ボランティアをしたり、国の将来を考える姿が報道されていた。このことについて、Obamaは、"It(Our campaign) grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep."と言っている。

もちろん、これからはいばらの道続きだろう。それは、スピーチの中でも述べている。"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there."

Obamaは、スピーチの冒頭で "If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer."と述べた。この国の理想を、今一度、語り、実現しようとするリーダーの誕生である。

アメリカの新時代「change」を見つめていきたいと思う。それは、我々に日本人にとっても、この国の在り方を考える貴重な日々になるはずだ。
